At St. Mary’s Center, we work in collaboration with the City of Boston and the State. As such, all referrals to St. Mary’s Center’s residential programs come from City and State programs: the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC), the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA), the Department of Children and Families (DCF), and the Mayor’s Office of Housing.

Steps for those searching for housing

Families seeking shelter are encouraged to contact the following resources:

EOHLC (617)-573-1370: Families seeking shelter are encouraged to contact EOHLC to see if they are eligible for Emergency Assistance and placement in a family shelter.
Families who have been denied entry to the state’s family shelter system (Emergency Assistance/EA) can find an updated list of “Non-EA” shelters here in English and Spanish: Mass Legal Services Non-EA Shelter Lists.

Individuals seeking shelter are encouraged to contact the following resources:

Dial 211: Statewide health and human service hotline, a quick and simple way to begin to explore your housing options
